Points:

Turning Point - a critical or transformative moment

Turnaround - a change in one's situation for the better

Point of No Return - the time when it is no longer possible for you to make a different decision

Luke 17:1-4

Turning points in response to sin:

  1. Genuine disciples take sin seriously

  2. Repentance of sin is transformative

  3. Forgiving those who've wronged you and repented is critical and transformative

Luke 17:7-10

Turning points in kingdom service:

  1. Faithful servants don’t expect special treatment based on works.

  2. Faithful servants recognize there’s no entitlement in God’s house.

  3. Faithful servants embrace God’s grace and respond with gratitude.

  4. Faithful servants receive commendation from the Lord when they earnestly seek Him rather than earnestly seeking rewards.

Luke 17:11-19

Turnarounds:

  1. Obedience to Jesus precedes experiencing the miracles of Jesus.

  2. Faith in Jesus moves us to give him praise.

  3. Salvation is found in no one else but Jesus.

Luke 17:20-33

The point of no return:

  1. Following Jesus is an all or nothing decision.

  2. Looking back with longing on what might have been if you stayed in your old life will cost you your life in the end.
